Hi, I’m Ann.

I am a qualified Mindfulness Practitioner and Teacher for adults, children and young people and adolescents. In addition, I am also a qualified Wellbeing Life Coach, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Practitioner, Advanced Grief Recovery Specialist and Hypnotherapist.

I start each day with mindfulness practice and see first-hand the benefits and indeed the difference it has made in my life. I want to share this experience with others.

I have worked in both the private and public sector in corporate marketing and communications, with a key focus on employee communications and engagement.  I also have  experience of working in Equality and Diversity and been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to work with some of our local community groups and partner organisations.

When my last employer offered me the opportunity to attend a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course I jumped at the chance and I have never looked back.  My own experience of mindfulness inspired me to give up my career and become a mindfulness practitioner and teacher; adding this to the portfolio of therapies I already practice.

I am now exceedingly fortunate in being able to support local people, organisations, schools, charity groups etc; sharing my knowledge and passion for mindfulness, emotional intelligence and resilience - assisting them in balancing their mind and body and improving their health and wellbeing...

I currently deliver a Practical Mindfulness Training Programme online, on behalf of the NHS Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust Wellbeing and Recovery College.

As a member of the local community I am a Community Panel Member for the West Mercia Youth Justice Service and share my experience of mindfulness by volunteering with The Jayne Sargent Foundation; supporting people affected by cancer locally.

Testimonials

I had a personal accountability plan to improve my self-care! Well I did do that, with the help of Ann and Diane leading us on our journey. The Mindfulness & Meditation for Beginners workshop was excellent. I knew about mindfulness and had done some previously, but it was via sheets of paper and short CBT meetings - hard to practice and sustain. Sharing within a group makes you realise others are in similar positions and it makes the journey easier as you can learn from others in a safe, relaxed environment. I have gained at lot and will keep practicing as my understanding is far better now.

I can’t believe how calm I am now at home and in work. I find that by using my mindfulness techniques I can deal with work situations in a more professional manner without getting myself stressed. I use different tools for different situations. Why didn’t I do this before now?”

After suffering from claustrophobia for so long it was wonderful going on holiday; getting on the plane and using a lift without getting stressed and anxious.

Lost in a constant cycle of back and nerve pain, my mind in a whirl of worry and anxiety.  Is this now my life, I ask myself?

I learned and practiced how to calm my mind, let go of anxieties and relax my body through breathing and meditation techniques. With a sense of calmness and a much clearer mind, I now look at the world through different eyes.  The sadness and frustration has gone. Taking time to listen to the bird song - noticing the beauty in life not just the bad.

Working with Ann gave me a life changing opportunity, which I totally embraced - for that I will be eternally grateful.  Thank you Ann.

I have found the course interesting and helpful to have input from others. It is good to know I am not alone and my experiences are similar to those of others. Thank you.

Mindfulness is an essential part of the primary curriculum, where children are able to understand themselves and the world they live in. With increasing anxiety and mental health issues, for our younger generations children develop strategies and techniques to help them cope and deal  with everyday tasks, helping them to feel relaxed and in control.  Ann provides and fun, engaging mindfulness program that is accessible to all pupils. She develops strong relationships, so children feel at ease to discuss and share their own experiences. Over the unit of work my year 5 children, developed strategies to support their learning and everyday life. I noted an improvement in concentration, focus and a greater understanding of emotions, thoughts and feelings. The children were extremely positive about all the sessions, activities and spending time with Ann - they looked forward to their next session.  I would highly recommend the mindfulness sessions with Ann.

After completing the eight-week Mindfulness Now course with Ann, the difference in my outlook on life and on my mental wellbeing is astonishing. I am now a much more positive person and I’ve built a toolkit of techniques to use in times of need. Meditation and journaling has played such a big role in my development. I am less stressed; my mood has lifted, and I have much more clarity in my life.

Entering a room full of people was a huge ‘NO’ for me; but not any longer.  The Mindfulness Now programme has given me back my confidence and reduced my anxiety when meeting new people.  Thank you.

Thank you for coming along and giving us the opportunity of finding out more about mindfulness; its benefits and how it can help improve our health and wellbeing.  It is definitely something we would like to continue with.  We all enjoyed taking part in the mindfulness practices and look forward to working with you again shortly.
